What makes you unique?

We do things a little differently from regular hospitality. Our motel and its rooms are over a hundred years old, and our updates had to accommodate its legacy. As such, many of its fixtures can’t be found anywhere else. Each room has a private patio with beautiful views and a fire table. We provide contactless check in (for those introverts among you). Your stay here will be different from a chain hotel; we might not be for you, and that’s okay. Everyone deserves to have an enjoyable stay in the Royal Gorge region that’s a fit for them.

Do you provide TVs?

Only in our cottage (which is currently, unfortunately, under renovation), a conscious decision we made for room ambiance. We provide wifi and an unmatched view – we invite you to unplug during your stay with us, and marvel at the stars instead.

What time is check in/check out? Can I have an early check-in or late check-out?

Check-in is at 4pm, and check-out is at 10am. We will absolutely do out best to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs as we can. We can’t make any promises, since it all depends on how long it takes us to clean the rooms, but we’ll do our best to accommodate reasonable requests.

Do you allow smoking?

We do not allow smoking in the rooms. Any rooms found to have been smoked in will incur a $350 fee (so we can burn all the towels and linens and deep-clean the smell out). You are welcome to smoke on the property away from guests, but we ask that you dispose of the cigarette butts in your own vehicle.

Do you allow pets?

We love well-behaved dogs, but we do charge a $30/night pet fee. Excessive barking/aggressive dogs and/or humans may be given a warning or asked to leave. Pets must be leashed. Our insurance people require that be noted. Are you happy now, insurance people?

Do you provide coffee?

Local coffee is provided, as well as a coffee maker. We also provide dairy-free Laird creamer, dairy-full Copper Cow latte packets, and sugar. Gotta have hot coffee to enjoy on your patio, right?

I am hauling a trailer, do you have somewhere I can park it?

We have plenty of parking space open. We’re situated on 23 acres, and have space around the side of the building. Let us know and we can show you where to park.

Do you provide shampoo?

We do not provide shampoo. In an effort to eliminate as much waste as possible, we provide custom handmade soap bars, created exclusively for our guests. Our soap smells like mountains, freedom, and joy, and we hope it enhances your stay with us.

I hear you have a trail?

We have a mile-long walking trail that extends onto the additional 20 acres we own. Strewn along it is a 4-hole disc golf course for you to enjoy.

What’s that cool old building behind the patios?

That’s our refurbished greenhouse community space. An excellent spot to hangout if it’s gotten too rainy or windy (that’s when the vibes are at their best). Please note, on sunny days it may get a little… toasty. Perfect for that rotisserie chicken experience.

Do you provide housekeeping?

We do not. If you’re sticking around for several nights, let us know when you need new towels, soap, etc. and we will gladly swap things out for ya’!

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that things come up and you sometimes have to cancel your stay. All reservations require 100% payment at the time of booking. 30 days prior to your stay, payments are 96.5% refundable (the card process won’t refund its fee). Within 30 days, reservations are 50% refundable. Reservations cancelled within 72 hours of check-in are, unfortunately, non-refundable.

What is up with the F.A.R. Donation?

Fremont Adventure Recreation is the non-profit organization responsible for the design and development of some of the best hiking and mountain biking trails in the Royal Gorge Region. We support them through their 1% program, where (if you couldn’t tell) 1% of our proceeds go straight to them. Preserving access to the natural world is very important to us, and we thought you should know that part of your stay makes the area an even better place to visit.
